Jo E. Rodgers, Pharm.D., is Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of North
Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy. Dr. Rodgers received both a Bachelor
of Science in Pharmacy and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the UNC School of Pharmacy.
Upon completing residencies in pharmacy practice and critical care at the Medical
College of Virginia, she returned to UNC for an academic fellowship in cardiovascular
pharmacotherapy. Her current responsibilities include balancing an active
clinical practice with the UNC Cardiomyopathy and Cardiac Transplantation Service
and teaching in cardiology and critical care. Dr. Rodgers’ research interests
focus on heart failure and cardiac transplantation.
Dr. Rodgers is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist with Added Qualifications
in Cardiology. She recently served as Chair of the American College of Clinical
Pharmacy Cardiology Practice and Research Network and Secretary of the Triangle
College of Clinical Pharmacy. Dr. Rodgers has written more than 50 publications
and abstracts as well as 10 book chapters, monographs, and on-line continuing education
programs. She has delivered more than 50 oral presentations to national and
state audiences.
Tien M.H. Ng, Pharm.D., BCPS

Tien M.H. Ng, Pharm.D., BCPS, is Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at the
University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Dr. Ng received a Bachelor of
Science Pharmacy in 1994 from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada and a Pharm.D.
in 1998 from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He completed a cardiovascular
pharmacotherapy fellowship in 2000 at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
Dr. Ng is a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist.
Prior to joining USC in March 2004, Dr. Ng was an assistant professor at the University
of Nebraska Medical Center. In his current role, Dr. Ng provides clinical services
to the intensive coronary care unit at the Los Angeles County and USC Medical Center.
He is also the director of the cardiology/critical care specialty residency at the
USC School of Pharmacy.
Dr. Ng’s primary research interests focus on heart failure pathophysiology and pharmacotherapy.
He has published numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters
related to cardiovascular pharmacotherapy. He has been an active member of the American
College of Clinical Pharmacy since 1998, serving as a speaker, abstract reviewer,
committee member, and reviewer for Pharmacotherapy. He is also a member of the American
Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA), and
American Heart Association. Dr. Ng was the recipient of the HFSA Clinical/Integrative
Physiology New Investigator Award in 2002.
Michael A. Crouch, Pharm.D., BCPS (AQ Cardiology)

Dr. Michael Crouch is Associate Professor of Pharmacy and Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth
University (VCU) School of Pharmacy on the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) campus.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of North
Carolina and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Medical College of South Carolina.
Before joining the faculty at VCU/MCV in 1996, he completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency
at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and an Adult Medicine Pharmacy
Residency with Cardiology Emphasis at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Crouch is a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist, who also holds added
qualifications in cardiology. He serves as the Cardiovascular Clinical Pharmacist
at the Pauley Heart Center of the VCU Health System.
Dr. Crouch is a devoted teacher, who has dedicated much of his professional career
to the advancement of pharmacy students and residents. He currently serves
as the Director of the VCU Cardiology/Medicine Pharmacy Residency Program and the
advisor/liaison for student chapters of American Society of Health-System Pharmacists
(ASHP) and American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP). He has received various
teaching honors and awards, most notably the VCU School of Pharmacy Excellence in
Teaching Award on three occasions.
Dr. Crouch’s cardiovascular research interests focus on pharmacoepidemiology, guideline
adherence, teaching methodologies, and techniques to improve patient adherence and
drug safety. He has published numerous articles and textbook chapters in these
areas and he is a frequent national speaker on cardiovascular issues. Dr.
Crouch serves on numerous editorial and scholarly boards, including the editorial
advisory board for the Annals of Pharmacotherapy. His is an active
member of ASHP and ACCP.
